30 Million Plastic Bags Collected To Save Endangered Species

School children in Columbia have taken part in a program run by the Wildlife Conservation Network called Proyecto Tití, in which they are helping to clean the environment of Cotton-Top Tamarins by picking up paper and plastic trash. The children have thus far collected over 30 million plastic bags!

We at The Green Garmento love it when we get word that another state, county or city has made an effort to ban plastic bags. Usually when we read news about it we share it with you on Facebook and Twitter, but understanding the magnitude of each baby step may get lost.
